Tibetan Black Pottery was made by villagers of Nixi,which is Tibetan ethnic village in Shangri-La.For the main material of black pottery,the villagers use local red clay,which is not only fine and sticky,but also rich in iron.
There are many kinds of black pottery products, such as pots,stoves,urns and jars,Tibetan make them all by hand.
Normally,the Black pottery was used for daily life in Tibetan minority’s society.In present,people also use it for decoration,as well as collection.
